Construct

Building games in Construct, an event-sheet engine for 2D and HTML5 that runs in the browser and needs no code to start.

Construct describes game logic as event sheets - conditions and actions in a list - with JavaScript available where the visual approach runs out. That shape decides where it is used: browser and instant games, playable ads, prototypes that have to exist by Friday, and teaching, where a designer can build and test a mechanic without waiting for a programmer.

Postings that name it usually expect the whole small-team range: behaviours and families for reusable logic, the tilemap and animation editors, export and performance work for mobile browsers, and integration with an ad or platform SDK. File size and frame rate on low-end phones are the constraints that come up most often.

GameMaker occupies similar ground with its own scripting language, Godot and Unity scale further into 3D and large projects. Construct postings are the ones where speed from idea to playable link is the deciding factor.
