Frontier
Frontier Developments is a British studio and publisher known for simulation and management games such as Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and Elite Dangerous.
Founded in 1994 by David Braben, Frontier has built its catalogue around two strands: the Elite space simulation series, and the creative management simulations that the studio has made its own, where players build and run a park, a zoo or a racing team.
The company develops and publishes its own titles and has also worked on licensed properties. Management simulations put unusual demands on a team: deep systems that have to stay readable, large numbers of simultaneous entities, and tools that let a player build things the designers never anticipated.
