Exient
Exient is a British developer and publisher with a studio on Malta, known for bringing large console franchises to handheld and mobile platforms.
Exient has worked since 2000 on titles for handheld, mobile, console, PC and VR. Much of its reputation comes from conversions and adaptations: taking a sports or racing franchise built for one platform and making it work on a smaller one, which is as much an engineering problem as an art one.
Alongside that contract work the company has developed and published titles of its own. The Malta studio is one of two locations, so roles there sit inside an established pipeline with the constraints that porting work brings: fixed source material, fixed deadlines and hardware that gives less than the original target did.
