Sandbox Interactive develops and publishes Albion Online, a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG that has been running and growing since its release in 2017.
The studio works on a single long-running title rather than on a sequence of releases. Albion Online is a classless sandbox MMORPG built in Unity, with a player-driven economy, open-world conflict and progression tied to what a player does rather than to a chosen class.
It runs on desktop and mobile from the same world, so a change has to work on a phone and on a PC at once. Because the studio also publishes the game itself, development sits next to live operations, community work and player support instead of being handed to an external label.
