License Coordinator

A license coordinator looks after the use of game brands by third parties and checks that products carrying them follow the rules of the licensor.

The work is approvals and coordination. A partner submits artwork, packaging or a product sample; the coordinator checks it against the brand guide, collects the comments of the internal teams and returns a decision with the reasons.

Illustrator and Photoshop appear in postings because the checking is visual and often involves preparing or correcting layouts. The rest of the job is organisation: approval rounds, deadlines, versions and a record of what was agreed.

Accuracy matters more than speed here, since a wrong approval ends up printed. The role suits people who can hold a brand standard against partners and still keep the relationship working.

It is one of the few positions in games where the product is physical. Materials, print processes and packaging formats come into the judgement, and a colour that looks right on screen may be unreachable on fabric. Experience from consumer goods or publishing transfers well into it.
