UI Programmer
UI programmers implement the menus, HUDs and in-game interfaces, and keep them fast and data-driven.
A UI programmer builds what the player clicks: menus, HUD elements, inventories, shops and overlays, wired to game data and localised text. The work covers layout systems, input handling for gamepad, touch and mouse, animation and transitions, and the architecture that keeps screens reusable instead of hand-built one by one.
Performance is a recurring theme, because an interface drawn every frame can cost as much as the scene behind it. Postings ask for C++ or C#, a UI framework such as UMG, Slate or Unity UI, shader basics for effects, and accessibility and scaling across resolutions.
A UI artist and a UX designer decide how the interface looks and behaves; the UI programmer makes it real and maintainable. In larger teams this is a specialisation of gameplay programming, and in smaller ones it is the same person on a different day.
