Game Master

A game master keeps a live online game running day to day: scheduled events, incidents during service, escalated player cases and the exploits that need to reach the development team.

The role exists where a game is a service rather than a release. Daily work means running operational routines with internal admin tools, supporting maintenance windows and patch deployments, and watching whether the service behaves. When something breaks mid-service, the game master is the one writing the player notice while the cause is still being found.

The other half is content and cases. In-game events get scheduled and configured, player feedback gets gathered and passed on, and escalated support tickets land here for a second look with access that front-line support does not have. Deep knowledge of the game itself is a requirement, because judging a report means knowing how the systems are supposed to behave.

A Community Support Agent answers players. A Player Support Lead runs that function. The game master works inside the running game.
