Telemetry Specialist

A telemetry specialist builds what a game reports about itself: which events are recorded, how they reach a server, and whether the resulting numbers can be trusted.

Everything an analyst later asks depends on this role having recorded the right thing. The work means designing an event schema that will still answer questions in a year, implementing it in the client, and handling the practical problems: batching, offline sessions, retries, version differences between builds, and the payload size a mobile connection can afford.

Data quality is the real product. Duplicate events, missing sessions and a schema change that silently breaks an old dashboard are the failures that matter, and they are invisible unless someone validates the pipeline deliberately. Privacy rules decide what may be collected at all.

A Data Analyst interprets the numbers; a Data Engineer moves and stores them. The telemetry specialist makes sure what arrives reflects what happened.
